Hello, Self Developers and welcome to The Patrick Kelly Podcast for Self-Development, where I will be reviewing  audible books on Self-Development that can change your life for the better this year, and years to come. It is said that if we keep on doing what we always did, we will keep on getting what we always got. In other words, to change our output, we first have to change our input.

Today is February 06, 2022, and This is Episode 6 of Season 2, and today we will be reviewing the audible book “The Power Of Self Confidence: Become Unstoppable, Irresistible, and Unafraid In Every Area Of Your Life” By Brian Tracy. This audible book will teach you how to gain confidence, courage, and unshakeable determination, in every area of your life. Nothing splendid has ever been achieved except by those who dared believe that something inside of them was superior to circumstance. The foundation quality of success in every walk of life, is self-confidence. 

Chapter 1: The Foundation Of Self-Confidence: There is nothing that is good or bad, but thinking makes it so. You become what you think about all day and all night. The law of concentration states that anything you dwell upon, grows in your reality. When you constantly think about being bold and courageous, you will become bolder and more courageous. Whatever you think about eventually becomes a part of your character and your personality. Think consistently the thoughts of the person that you want to be. Thoughts held in mind, produce after their kind. Like begets like. You do become what you think about, most of the time. Your outer world is simply a reflection of your inner world. Your inner life predicts your outer life. To have self-confidence on the outside, practice self-confidence on the inside. As within, so without.

Chapter 2: Purpose and Personal Power: There can be no great courage where there is no confidence or assurance, and half the battle is the conviction that we can do what we undertake. You attract whatever you are thinking about, most of the time. You cannot think about one thing and attract something else. Fuzzy goals bring about fuzzy results. Clear goals bring about clear results.  Know what exactly you want, and then think about nothing else. Your life is what your thoughts make it. Whatever you dwell upon, continually grows in your reality. The greatest enemy of self-confidence will always be fear.  

Chapter 3: Achieving Competence and Personal Mastery: The quality of a person’s life is in direct proportion to their commitment to excellence, no matter what their chosen field. Your limits are solely determined by your own beliefs and by your own confidence in what you think is possible for you. Your self-confidence is directly related with your self-esteem, and to how much you like yourself. The more you like yourself, the better you will do. It all boils down to self-efficacy. Self-Efficacy is a measure of how effective and competent, you feel you are to perform a particular task or to achieve your goals. This is also known as performance-based self-esteem.   

Chapter 4: The Inner Game of Self-Confidence: Confidence does not come out of nowhere, it is a result of something, hours and days and weeks and years of constant work and dedication. You must constantly work on your belief system. Belief or faith allows you to act boldly in the face of uncertainty. Confidence enables you to face changes and difficulties and unexpected setbacks with calmness and clarity and allows you to respond more effectively under any circumstances.  The law of belief states that your beliefs become your reality. You do not believe what you see, but you see what you already believe. Belief creates the actual fact. According to your faith, it is done unto you. You believe on the outside based on your belief on the inside. All things are possible to him that believeth.

Chapter 5: Capitalizing On Your Strengths: Booker T Washington once wrote “I have learned that success is to be measured, not so much by the position one has reached in life, as by the obstacles he has overcome while trying to succeed. By listening to the right programs or reading the right books, or listening to the right podcasts, might be all you need to gain strengths in your chosen field of endeavor. What appears as a weakness can be key indicators of the type of work or activity, that you should not be engaging in. As you become more aware of what your strengths are, you will become more self-accepting of who you really are. As your level of self-acceptance increases, and you begin to respect yourself, for your unique talents and abilities, your level of self-esteem, and self-confidence will go up as well.    

Chapter 6: Triumphing Over Adversity: True self-confidence comes from positive knowing, rather than positive thinking.  Experience is not what happens to a man, it is what he does, with what happens to him. It is not about what happens to you, but how you respond to it. Without adversity, you cannot become the person that you were always meant to become. Napoleon Hill states that “every adversity, every failure, every heartbreak, carries with it the seed of an equal or greater benefit. If the butterfly does not struggle to get out of its cocoon, its wings will not develop to become strong enough to fly. It would merely drop to the ground and die if you cut open the cocoon in order to help it. The struggle is real.

Chapter 7: Self-Confidence In Action: Accept complete responsibility for yourself and for everything that you are, and ever will be. Accept that you can change your situation, only by going to work on yourself, and learning the things you need to know to be better. Set clear goals with timelines for the things you want, and then work every day to bring those goals into reality. We are all engineered for success, but programmed for failure, by the environment that we choose to be in. Self-discipline is the master key to riches. Self-discipline is all about making yourself do, what you should do, when you should do it, whether you feel like it or not. If you have the desire to change, the decisive to take action, the determination to persist on your forward track, and the discipline to do whatever you need to do, your self-confidence and your success are inevitable.     

Closing Thoughts: On scale of 1 to 5, I would give this audible book, a super solid 5, for offering vital information on how to become unstoppable, irresistible and unafraid in every area of life.
