Hello, Self Developers and welcome to The Patrick Kelly Podcast for Self-Development, where I will be reviewing audible books on Self-Development that can change your life for the better this year, and years to come. It is said that if we keep on doing what we always did, we will keep on getting what we always got. In other words, to change our output, we first have to change our input.
Today is April 18, 2021 and This is Episode 14, and Today, we will be reviewing the Audible Book, “Gorilla Mindset” How To Dominate and Unleash The Animal Inside Of You, To Live A Life of Health, Wealth and Freedom by Mike Cernovich. This audible book is for people who want more out of life, more money, better relationships, a more rewarding career, and looking to control your thoughts, feelings, and emotions in order to succeed in Life.
Chapter # 1: Mindset and Conversation: The Power of Self-Talk: The stories You tell yourself is defined as Self-talk. Change the conversation you have with yourself by treating Yourself, like a Trusted Friend. Always ask good questions about yourself, and don’t make negative statements about yourself. Always change your negative self-talk by using positive mantras and positive affirmations. Visualize the Person that You want to be. In order to develop better relationships with People, have a better relationship with yourself.
Chapter #2: Mindset and Choice: Change The Way You Perceive Life’s Challenges: Framing is how You choose to view things. Framing is how You decide to understand situations. What You focus on is what You feel. Your Frame is a choice on how You choose to view life’s difficulties. Focus on what You have, and not what You don’t have. Learn to watch Your language. Instead of looking at things as a problem, re-frame it as a challenge.
Chapter #3: Mindset and Being in the Moment: How To Check Into Your Life: In order to check into your body, you have to be present in the present moment, and aware of where you are and what you are doing right now. Like I have said in previous Podcast, You cannot change that, which You do not acknowledge. You have to check into your life by avoiding anxiety. Anxiety is defined as focusing on uncertain events in the future. Big changes start off small. Take small steps in order to make big changes.
Chapter #4: Mindset and Mood: How to Control Your State of Mind: What is your State? Your State is Your mood, your emotions, and how You feel in the present moment. How you feel is a choice You make in the present moment. The Gorilla Mindset approach is “I am going to take an active approach to managing my state”. To find yourself, you have to be alone by yourself in order to meditate yourself from a negative state to a positive state. How I feel is a choice that I make in the present moment.
Chapter #5: Mindset and Focus: How to Take Control of Your Attention: You take control of your attention by becoming extremely focused, on what is needed to be done for the day. Focus on what is important, and not on what is, unimportant. Your focus brings You closer to what You want. Focus on what You want and never focus on what You don’t want. Focus on what You want more of, and focus less, on what You want less of. We are the sum total of our activities and the people we surround ourselves with. Spend more time with people who will keep you focused on your goals, and less time with people who will move You away from your goals.
Chapter #6: Mindset and Lifestyle: Change The Way You Live: Lifestyle is a set of behaviors and behavior orientations. Lifestyle is defined as how You live your life on a day-to-day basis. To change the way You live, You will have to cut off contact with negative people, even negative family members. Why? Because your lifestyle has an effect on your mindset. You must learn to say no to people and things that do not help you to positively change, your lifestyle.
Chapter #7: Mindset and Body: Health and Fitness: What you take care of, takes care of you. You must take care of your body for your body to take care of you. The only way to take care of your body is by feeding eat correctly. Avoid processed sugar foods and junk foods that have no nutritional value whatsoever. Eat more plant-based foods that include vegetables and fruits. Exercise at least 3 to 4 times per week. This is the only way to improve your Mindset and Body.
Chapter #8: Mindset and Posture: How Posture Affects Your Physical and Mental Health: Your Posture impacts Your Mood. Good Posture is Good for Your Mind. Your Mindset and Posture are Linked. Change Your Posture In Order to Change Your Mindset. Change Your State, by Changing Your Body, and Changing Your Posture. Develop good Posture Habits by first being Knowledgeable about your Current Posture. Always practice improving Your Posture.
Chapter #9: Mindset and Money: How To Keep Money In Perspective and In Your Pocket: Money is like oxygen, without it You will die. Without Money, it is impossible to live. It is not about how much money You make, but how much money You keep. Don’t buy Status, Buy Assets. Before buying something, always ask yourself, “is this product going to enhance my life or am I just buying this product looking for status, and trying to impress other people?”. Become your own personal brand and build “You Inc.” by investing in yourself and viewing yourself as a money-making machine.
Chapter #10: Mindset and Vision: Change What You See, Change What You Get: Treat your dreams better than your memories. Instead of thinking about your past, daydream about your future. Always use all of your five senses, to dream about your future. Visualize the way you want your life to be. You have to see it, see the future, before You seize it.
Chapter #11: Mindset Starts Today: Creating Your Amazing Life One Day At A Time: Your lifestyle, health and fitness all improve your mindset. To live an amazing life, start off small. See it to get it. You will only get what you see. In order to live the life you want, live the day.
